Mr. Orbin Alonzo Duncan, 94, of Cartersville passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at his residence. He was a native of Bartow County, born March 27, 1918, and was the son of the late Henry Emanuel Duncan and the late Alice Minnie Lee Cash Duncan. Along with his parents, Mr. Duncan is preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Lou Davenport Duncan; his brothers, Leon, Bill, Clifford and Jack Duncan; his sisters Gladys and Kathleen; and a step-mother, Lelia Edwards Duncan.
Mr. Duncan loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He loved to garden. He was a long time employee of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and faithful member of Faith United Methodist Church. He was active in the men's Sunday School Class and enjoyed the fellowship they shared.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Sharyn of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Christiane Januszewski and her husband, Garrick and Caroline Masak and her husband, Christopher; his great-grandchildren, Bella Januszewski, Griffin Masak and Miles Januszewski; his sister, Sybil Casey and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2012 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Fuenral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Keith Guyton officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
