Patricia Chappell

Patricia Ann Fortner Chappell, of Cartersville, GA, age 76, ascended to her heavenly home on Monday, March 28, 2022.

Pat was born May 22, 1945, in Bartow County, the youngest child of Jesse and Rachel Simpson Fortner. She grew up in the Atco community.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her older siblings Howard (Dude) and Gloria Fortner, Betty and Ed Lovell, Toby Fortner, Nancy Hardin, and many beloved fur babies.

Pat was always supportive and involved in her grandchildren's activities as they grew up. She was a wonderful, thoughtful, and genuinely loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a dedicated employee of Shaw Industries for 48 years before her retirement.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Susette and Kenny Darnell, daughter Cynthia McBee, and son and daughter-in-law David and Glenda Worley; grandchildren Will Darnell, Jake Darnell, Tyler McBee, Bradley Walraven, and Heather Worley (Ian Everett); great-granddaughter Madison Everett; in-laws Vernon Hardin and June Fortner; several nieces and nephews, and her fur babies Puddin and Bella.

The family will receive friends at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a service immediately following in the chapel, with Rev. Keith Willard officiating. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. She will be interred at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cartersville, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Etowah Valley Humane Society in Pat's memory.
