Patricia Crockford

Mrs. Patricia McGill Crockford, 75, of Cartersville, widow of the late Johnny Crockford, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at her residence.

Born June 20, 1943 in Anniston, AL, she was a daughter of the late Roy McGill and the late Louise McCoy McGill. Mrs. Crockford was a 1962 graduate of Cass High School and was retired from Lockheed Martin. She was active in the Church of God in Cartersville for a long time and at the time of her death she was the secretary at David Street Church of God, where she was always willing to do whatever God called her to do. She was a member of the gospel singing group Touched By Grace, singing praises unto the Lord, and she enjoyed going to Maple Ridge every month for 14 years. Mrs. Crockford was always baking things to give away and her house always smelled like cake. She was always trying to help others in any way that she could. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by Danial and Sonja Vernon, who were like her parents and helped raise her; and a great-nephew, Zegan Mills.

Survivors include her daughter, Dede Sutton (Dewayne) of Cartersville; brothers, Charles McGill (Cathy) of Rockmart, and Ernest McGill (Dorothy) of Dawsonville; sister, Betsy Nally (Don) of Marietta; grandchildren, Chance Beck (Becka) of Cartersville, and Laura Sutton, also of Cartersville; great-grandchild, Ella Bridges of Cartersville; additional family who fondly called her "Aunt Pat", Darlene and Tim Henson, Cali Pharis, Paisley Pharis, Doug and Toni Jane Vernon, Little Daniel Vernon, Westley and Linda Vernon, and Megan Vernon; step-daughter, Stormie Watkins, and her children, Deion Watkins, Morgan Watkins, and Deionna Watkins; nephews, Chuck McGill, Chris McGill, Randy Jones, Roger Jones, and Rodney Jones; special cousins who were like sisters, Betty Jean Hufstetler and Doris Champion; and prayer partners, Susan West, Martha Addington, Mary Green, Regina James, and Scott and Catrina Shepherd.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Doug Vernon and The Reverend Roger Luke officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Randy Jones, Roger Jones, Rodney Jones, Chuck McGill, Tim Henson, and Daniel Vernon.
