Patricia "Ann" Marcus

Mrs. Patricia "Ann" Simpson Marcus, 65, of Cartersville, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born May 14, 1949 in Cartersville, she was a daughter of Bernice Lowrimore Simpson and the late Boyd Simpson. She was a member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church and was retired from the Bartow County School System after 28 years as a 3rd grade teacher. Mrs. Marcus was a loving mother who enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles, and had a passion for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Survivors include her daughter, Carrie McDaniel of Cartersville; granddaughter, Cheyanna McClure of Adairsville; mother, Bernice Simpson of Cartersville; sister, Aline Broadaway of Cartersville; and a brother, Sam Simpson and his wife, Elaine of Rydal.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Rowland Springs Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Joe Ringwalt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Marcus will be carried to the church on Saturday to lie-in-state for one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
