Our beautiful and beloved mother, sister, and nana, Patsy Hamby, passed away peacefully with family by her side on January 25, 2025, at the age of 75. Her warmth, kindness, and love for her family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Ruthell Hamby and William A. Hamby, as well as her dear siblings: Carolyn Wilson, Edward Coalson, Diane Hopkins, Charles Hamby and her great grand-daughter Kaylee Johnson.
She is survived by her loving family: her children, Doyle Botts, Darrell (Vicki) Botts of Cartersville, GA, Dwight (Teresa) Botts of Dalton, GA, Michelle Botts (Jimmy Copeland) of Cartersville, GA, Cristie (Tony) Turner of Euharlee, GA, and Tia Conner of Taylorsville, GA; her grandchildren, Brittany Screws, Nat Botts, Allie Botts, Jessica Parr, Jessyka St. James, Ashley Beck, Jaimie Montaigne, Amber Stegall, Gavin Hardy, Gabe Hardy; and her great-grandchildren, Ava Hendrix, Kinsly Johnson, Layla Beck, Emilee Montaigne, Jessie Bonifay, Jason Kitzmiller, Kadence Henson, Kristopher Screws, Devon Screws, Landon Screws, and Emma Reed.
She is also survived by her siblings: Jimmy Coalson (Mary) of Glennville, GA; Barbara Hamby of Centre, AL; Ellen (JT) Bradley of Cedar Bluff, AL; Peggy (Dale) Payne of Cleveland, TN; Larry (Wanda) Hamby of Turtletown, TN; and Timmy Hamby of Cleveland, TN. She leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews, as well as her cherished aunt, Pauline Gravely of Cartersville, GA.
Patsy Hamby brightened countless lives with her generosity, strength, and compassion. Her legacy of love and dedication to her family will continue to inspire all who knew her. She was intelligent, humorous, and had a gift for helping things grow. Whether it was her green thumb, or her children and grandchildren, she always knew exactly what to do or say to help and inspire growth and compassion. Anyone who had the chance to call her family or a friend was extremely blessed.
Funeral Service Information
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Justin Payne officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on, January 28th, 2025, at the funeral home.
