It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patsy Ruth Thompson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Patsy was born on Tuesday, January 27, 1931, in Frosa, Texas, and peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, after a brief stay in the hospital.
Patsy dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker, creating a warm and nurturing environment filled with love and cherished memories. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, George Thompson, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Patsy was a proud and devoted mother to her son, Michael Thompson, and his wife Julia. She was the adored grandmother of Patrick Thompson and Andrew Thompson, who brought immense joy to her life. Patsy is also survived by her dear sister, Jo Nell Thompson, and her sister-in-law, Sharon Renfro, who were both cherished members of her family; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Johnnie Renfro, and her brother Walter Ray Renfro.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Patsy's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home in Cartersville, Georgia. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, offering an opportunity to share fond memories and support one another during this time of loss. Inurnment will take place at 11:30 am on Monday, March 2, 2026 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
