Paul Barnes

Paul Edwin Barnes, 83, of Ellijay Georgia, passed away on July 17, 2021 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia.

Born on November 9, 1937, he is the son of the late Levi Barnes and Ophia Barnes. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Anne E. Fowler; his son, Rodney Barnes; and his brother, James Barnes.

Survivors include his daughters, Destiny Barnes and Anna Mckenzie; his son, Wesley Barnes; his wife, Carolyn Barnes; granddaughter, Emily Barnes; cousin, Roy Barnes; his sister Rayneil Barnes; his good friend, Wallace Sanford; and his very loved unborn grandson, Gustavo Gamez.

Paul served his country in the United States Navy. He had a love for collecting all type of automobiles. He loved to watch a good race on NASCAR. He wasn't the affectionate type but if he cared about you, he made sure it was known. He was a kindhearted and very generous person. Over the years Paul helped out a countless amount of people throughout Bartow County. He was always keeping his yard looking nice, with beautiful grass all year round. He enjoyed gardening. He had a strong love for his two daughters like no other.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Willard officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, July 23, 2021 at the funeral home.
