Paul Womack, Sr.

Mr. Paul Emanuel Womack, Sr. age 87, of Rome, GA, died Friday, August 28, 2009, in a local hospital.



Mr. Womack was born in Gaylesville, AL on August 28, 1922, the son of James Womack and Belle Butler Womack. He resided in Rome for twenty-five years, and moved to Miami, FL, for forty years, then moved back to Rome ten years ago with his wife after retirement. He retired from Eastern Airlines as a truck driver. Mr. Womack never met a stranger. In addition to his parents Mr. Womack was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Lindsey Womack and two brothers, Tom and Bill Womack.



Survivors include his children, Paul and Nelda Womack, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Victor and Patti Womack of Miami, FL, Bobby and Penny Womack of Hollywood, FL, Carol Henegar of Rome, GA; and John D. Womack of FT. Pierce, FL; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby Chitwood of Fayetteville, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 30, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire Jennings & Miller Funeral Home with Dr. Dale Levan, Mr. Lance Womack, and Dr. Frank Wood officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire Jennings & Miller Funeral Home.



The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Oaknoll Chapel by 1:30 P.M. on Sunday.
