Peggy Herring

July 6, 1940 — July 24, 2008

Peggy Herring, age 68, of Cartersville passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Florala, Alabama on July 6, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James Goolsby and Lucile Davis Goolsby. She was a member of Taylorsville Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Herring enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, riding motor scooters and flying. Preceding her in death are her parents; her children, Henry H. Herring, III. and Bobby Dean Herring; her sisters, Margaret Fountain and Jewel Goolsby; and two brothers, Eddie and G. W. Goolsby.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Henry H. Herring of Cartersville; her daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Curtis Berry of Albany, Ga.; her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Milena Herring of Taylorsville; her siblings, Mary Barksdale and her husband, Bob of Athens, Al., Dwight Goolsby and his wife Carol of Jackson, Al., David Goolsby and his wife Sharon of Spartanburg, SC, Linda Walker and her husband Bill of Leroy, Al., Carol Lewis and her husband Ray of Birmingham, Al.; her two grandchildren, Chloe and Noah Herring of Taylorsville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Taylorsville Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Harris and Dr. Wayne Hamrick officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Friday from 6 – 9 p.m.
