Peggy Morton

Mrs. Peggy Lynn Morton, 81, of Cartersville, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Dalton on November 12, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Richard Columbus and Maude Estelle Smith Cockburn.
Mrs. Morton was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a labor and delivery nurse at Cartersville Medical Center for 26 years. She loved babies, sewing and crochetted for the entire community.
Survivors include her daughters, Margaret Morton of Cartersville, Mandy J. Dupree (Jeffery H. Dupree) of Kingston and Mona Morton McBrayer (Greg) of Acworth; her son, Michael A. Morton of Canton; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Sunset Memory Gardens with The Reverend Richard Brown officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Bread of Life Ministries, Women's Resource Center or the Tabernacle Baptist Church Building Fund.
