Penny Lee Cash Cady
September 26, 1970 – October 2, 2025
Penny Lee Cash Cady, 55, of Cartersville, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 2, 2025. She was born on September 26, 1970, in Melbourne, Florida.
Penny was preceded in death by her fathers, Errol Cash and Vonzell Johnson, and her stepmother, Beverly Cash, all of Cartersville.
She is survived by her devoted husband, James (Jim) Cady of Cartersville; her loving mother, Patricia Johnson; and her brothers, David Cash (Michele), Matthew Johnson (Stephanie), and Patrick Johnson (Erin). She is also survived by her stepbrothers, Donald and Dennis Lecik, her stepsister, Michelle Tanner, and her cherished nieces and nephews, Jenni Tipps, Daniel Cash, Robin Cash, Savannah Johnson, Olivia Johnson, Mattie Rose Johnson, Jake Johnson, Hurley Haney, and Rebecca Rudeseal, along with several great nephews and nieces. She also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, including Amy Cochran and her cousins Stacy Hightower and Lynn Lageman, who were like sisters to her.
Penny loved Jesus and had a heart to share His love with everyone she met. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to share the gospel. Jesus came first in her life, and family followed closely behind. Penny deeply loved her family—especially her brothers, whom she adored and defended endlessly.
Known for her enormous heart, Penny was constantly helping others—cooking meals for families and the homeless, giving gifts to those in need, making Easter baskets for children who might not otherwise receive one, and spreading kindness wherever she went. She truly loved people.
A natural entrepreneur, Penny most recently owned Cassville Station, where her love for thrifting and "junking" came to life. She had an incredible eye for a deal and could find treasures where others might not look. Penny was also known as the best gift-giver—her family would spend hours opening her thoughtful presents each Christmas. Giving was her love language, and she gave generously and joyfully.
Penny will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of faith, generosity, and love will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
