Peter Guereschi, Jr.

Mr. Peter William �Pete� Guereschi, Jr., 76, of Cartersville died August 10, 2011 unexpectantly from complications of COPD. He was born August 6, 1935 in East Syracuse, New York and was the son of the late Peter William Guereschi Sr. and the late Filomena Paolina Guereschi. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joseph Guereschi of Clay, New York and his former wife, Virginia Mann Guereschi of Margate, Florida.

Peter graduated from East Syracuse High School in East Syracuse, N.Y. He served in the US Navy before moving to Margate, Florida where he owned and operated his own air conditioning business. He moved to Cartersville in 2000 and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, working in their television ministry with his friend, Bob Bryson. He was also a member of the Lions Club.

Peter is survived by his wife, Judy Guereschi; his daughter, Christie Guereschi (Dan Lohman); his son, Peter John Guereschi (Kim); two granddaughters, Callie and Emma Guereschi all of Washington, North Carolina; his step-daughters, Kimberly Hogan of Cartersville and Tracey Bonds of Jasper, Georgia; his step-grandchildren, Jennifer Hogan, Robert Hogan, Ronald Thrasher, Jessica Thrasher, and Thomas Ray; a special great-grandchild, Jayda Thrasher; his sisters, Maryanne Thorpe (Joseph) of Brockport, N.Y. and Rita (Donald) Everson also of N.Y. along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev. Don Hattaway presiding.

The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.
