Mr. Phi Burney Brunson, age 74, of Centre Al, died Sunday, January 25, 2009, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Brunson was born in Gaylesville, Al. on September 12.1934. the son of the late Phi Brunson Sr. and Lydie Mooris Brunson He was a Baptist by faith . Mr. Brunson Owned and Operated the East 12th Groceries and Package store and Retired for Rome Housing Authority on May 12, 2000. He enjoyed Fishing, Playing the Lottery, sports and woodworking and most of all spending time with his family. Mr. Brunson was a loving Husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his son, Clay Stuart Brunson who passed in 1992.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda Cromer Brunson to whom he was married on December 21, 1992.one son and daughter-in-law, Michael Anthony Brunson and his wife Shannon of Stockbridge Ga., one daughter Kimberly Brunson of Rome,; 0ne sister Mary Ginn of Coosa; two special grandsons Brandon Brown of Rome, Colby Brunson of Sand rock Al. ; eight- grandchildren and nine- great-grandchildren,
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. in the McGuire, Jennings, and Miller Oaknoll Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Burke, officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Garden
The family will receive friends Monday from: 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 in the Oaknoll Chapel.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Oaknoll Chapel Tuesday by 10:45 P.M. Brandon Brown, Colby Brunson, Connie Clanton, Tim, Waits, Rodger Ginn and Mark Ginn.
