Mr. Wayne Ezell, 73, of Cartersville, died Tuesday, August 22, 2013 at his residence following a lingering illness. He was born in Acworth, July 27, 1940, to the late Euell Homer Ezell and the late Louise McCollum Ezell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Barnette and Evelyn Ezell. He was an active Shriner and Mason and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the 101st Air Bourne Infantry. He was of the Baptist faith and was employed by Orkin as a salesman before retirement.
Survivors include his children, David Ezell of Cartersville, Michael Ezell and wife, Aundria of Kingston and Wendy Gayton of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Chris Kazanchy, Randall Dussault, Kristina Pritchett, Mike and Mark Ezell, Brittney Carter, Amanda Piez and Barbara Ann Willeford; his great-grandchildren, Reed, Sawyer and Mason Ezell, Tyler and Tabitha Dussault, Tara Ellis, Brantley Camp, Katie Piez, Austin Willeford, Josh and R.J. Willeford; his sisters, Catherine Elrod and husband, J.R. and Faye Leachman; his brother, Hollis Ezell and a special friend, Joyce Williams.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Larry Towe and The Reverend Joe Nix officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery with Carl Boyd Post #42 in charge of full military rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Ezell, Mike Ezell, Randall Dussault, Steven Piez, Mike Ezell and Brian Ezell. Quinton Carter will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
