Raymond "Ray" Willard Ennis Jr., age 80, of Cartersville, Georgia, sadly passed away after a brief illness on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton, Georgia.
Ray was born on March 28, 1943, in Reedsville, West Virginia to the late Raymond Ennis Sr. and Wanda Ennis. He is also preceded in death by his son Jimmy Ennis; his brother David Ennis; and his brother Joseph Ennis.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Darla Ennis; his children Amanda Woodall (James), Jason Ware (Mary), Robert Ennis (Wendy); and Sherry Taylor; his grandchildren Elizabeth Woodall, Katelyn Woodall, Michaela Woodall, Lorelai Ware Sutton, Adalynn Ware, Jaylin Ware, Shayne Ware, Tiffany Taylor, Holly Brown, Kandice Taylor, and Danielle Taylor; and his siblings Bonnie Woods (Richard) and Richard Ennis (Joyce).
Ray really enjoyed classic cars, restoring old cars, and attending car shows. He also loved to travel and had even visited all 48 mainland states, although his favorite one to visit was Montana. He also loved his grandchildren dearly, loved Jesus, and was a devout Christian. He was very loved and will be missed dearly.
Ray's family will be hosting a memorial service at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 with James Woodall and Pastor Joseph Ringwalt officiating. Family and friends are welcome to stop by Parnick Jennings Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. up to the funeral service hour to fellowship.
On Saturday, June 22nd , at 11 am ET, the family of the late, Ray Ennis is inviting you to a small gathering, memorial service, and the spreading of his ashes. The service will be held at Masontown Cemetery, S. Main Street, Masontown, WV 26542.
Directions to Masontown Cemetery: From Morgantown, take route 7 and head south, once you enter Masontown, while still on route 7 – also named S. Main Street, look for the cemetery near the old HS Football field. Masontown Cemetery will be on your left. Take the third gate entrance closest to the HS football field bleachers, go down a ways, and look for flags and Lot #74 for Grandpa Raymond and Grandma Wanda Ennis' tombstone. This is the location for Dad's Memorial service.
The memorial service will be led by Pastor Tim Heaney of the Masontown Church of the Nazarene and accompanied by Mr. Jamie Woodall.
