Mr. R.C. Norred, 94, of Cartersville passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021.
Born on October 10, 1927 in Randolph County, Alabama he was the son of the late Jesse H. Norred and the late Mary Griggs Norred. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Jessica Norred; and six brothers and sisters.
Mr. Norred served his country in World War II, Army Reserves, and was called back to serve on the front lines of the Korean War.
He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and retired from Shaw Industries in 1993. Mr. Norred enjoyed spending time with his family, and watching the Atlanta Braves and The Price is Right.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, June Norred; daughters, Cheryl Temples (Gary), and Vickie Hamilton (Carroll); grandchildren, Heather Vaughn, Natalie Adams (Brandon), and Bryan Hamilton (Audrey); great-grandchildren, Alice & Eva Vaughn, Emma, Maverick & James Adams, and Lacie & Grant Hamilton; sister-in-law, Kay Aderhold (Gary); and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with his grandson, Bryan Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Aderhold, Andy Westfall, Carroll Hamilton, Bryan Hamilton, Brandon Adams, Maverick Adams, James Adams and Gary Temples.
