Rebecca Elaine Chumley, 55, of Cartersville passed away Monday, June 8, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer. Born July13, 1954 in Muncie, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Larry Edward Dehaven and the late Jerryann Parvis Dehaven. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dean Alan Dehaven.
Rebecca was an Indiana farm girl who grew up and was baptized in the First Baptist Church of Auburn, Indiana. She had worked for Nantucket as a quality control inspector and then for Shaw Industries as a customer service representative. Rebecca enjoyed doing needlework and crocheting, collecting eagles, going fishing and camping, and �farming� on Farmville on Facebook.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-five years, James Ralph Chumley; her children, Alan Chumley and Shiann Johnson, both of Cartersville; her stepchildren, James Ralph Chumley, Jr. of Seattle, Washington, Belinda Sue Cosby of Dallas, Cheryl Gallegos of Casper, Wyoming, Sheila Pilcher of Smyrna, Janice Edwards of Marietta, and Debbie Thompson of Murphy, North Carolina; her sister, Debbie Stellwag of Muncie, Indiana; her brothers, Thomas Dehaven and Barry Dehaven, both of Cartersville; seventeen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010 in Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jeffrey Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers Rebecca requested contributions to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 26 O�Farrell St., Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94108.
