Becky Strickland Griffith, 38, of Cartersville passed away Monday, June 7, 2010 near Fort Payne, Alabama due to an accident. Born August 21, 1971 in Cartersville, she was the daughter of Carl W. and Jackie Hyde Strickland. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack and Esther Mae Hyde, Dwight and Meryl Strickland, James and Aileen Smith, and J.W. and Gertrude Griffith.
Becky never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone she met. She was a graduate of Cartersville High School and enjoyed the outdoors including camping and photography. Becky�s greatest love and focal point of her photography was her family, especially her son, Lane. Another love she had was attending her son Lane�s ballgames and supporting coach Ryan.
Survivors include her husband of seventeen years, Ryan Griffith; her son, Lane Griffith; her mother and father, Jackie Hyde Strickland and Carl �Scott� Strickland, Sr.; her brother, Carl Strickland, Jr.; her sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Randy �Big Time� Wilson; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Linda and James Griffith; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Scott and Denise Griffith; a number of nieces and nephews; special friends, Teresa and Robert Clark; and a host of other friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Rydal with Rev. Forrest Leachman officiating. Becky will lie in state in the church from 1:30 � 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Beck, Jake Beck, Bo Edwards, Joseph Hyde, Taylor Griffith, and Blake Griffith. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the church by 1:15 p.m. on Thursday.
The family will receive friends from 5 � 9 p.m. Wednesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to the Lane Griffith Trust Fund, ℅ Bank of the Ozarks.
