Richard Bishop

June 19, 1954 — March 17, 2024

In Loving Memory of Richard Wayne Bishop, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and passionate outdoorsman, peacefully passed away on March 17, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.  He was 69 years old.  Born to his parents Tillis and Stella Bishop on June 19th, 1954.  Wayne was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Bishop, his sisters Louise Freeman, and Linda Vangi.  Wayne leaves behind his beloved wife Robin Bishop, his children Amanda Bloodworth (spouse Jeff), Kimberly mcEntyre, Christopher Bishop, and seven grandchildren plus close family: Josh, Trenton (Harley), Carleigh, Heather, Shyann, Leland, Ashlynn, and Zakery.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

His passion for fishing and hunting went beyond just pastimes; it was a way of life that filled him with deep joy and peace.  As a genuine enthusiast of the outdoors, Wayne devoted numerous hours to fishing in serene lakes and rivers or tracking game in the wild, rugged terrain.  Whether it was the excitement of catching big fish or the calmness of sitting in a deer stand early in the morning, he felt happy and peaceful when he was out in nature.

Beyond his passion for outdoor pursuits, Wayne was a devoted family man.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who shared his enthusiasm for nature with his cherished family, creating enduring memories.  As a father, he imparted his wisdom and reverence for the natural world to his children and grandchildren, instilling in them the virtues of hard work, patience, wildlife appreciation, and the importance of familial bonds.  Wayne had a strong passion and connection to Disney World which was his favorite place on earth.  He was also an avid NASCAR racing fan.  He was known for his quick wit and his wonderful sense of humor.  His legacy of love, adventure, and reverence for the great outdoors will forever reside in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Wayne's life will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm on Thursday, march 21, 2024 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.  Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory and share anecdotes of his extraordinary life.  A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at Sunset Memory Gardens.  As we bid farewell to Wayne Bishop, may we find solace in the knowledge that he now rests in peace, embraced by the natural beauty he held so dear.  May his soul keep wandering in the forests and lakes he adored, and may we find solace and motivation in remembering him.
