Richard Mcgriff

Mr. Richard Stephen �Blinky� McGriff, 73, of Cartersville, died Monday, May 28, 2012 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. Born in Fulton County on July 13, 1938, he was the son of the late Lewis McGriff, Sr. and the late Reba Roberts McGriff. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Buz and Jim McGriff.



He was a professional clown magician, a member of Atco Baptist Church, the American Legion and the Veterans Alliance Color Guard. His life was dedicated to clowning and making everyone laugh. Prior to retirement Mr. McGriff was employed by Kroger.



Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Andrea McGriff; his children, Richard Ford (Lisa) and Kenneth Ford; his grandchildren, Allie Yates (Nic), Zachary and Rachel Ford; his great-grandchild, Breilynn Yates; and his sister, Murial Chapman.



A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the American Legion in Cartersville with Dr. Don McDaniel officiating.
