Richard Michael Chapman, 72, of Cartersville Georgia, passed away at his home on August 2, 2021.

Born on June 1, 1949, he was the son of the late Sam Chapman and the late Sarah Chapman. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Sally Johnston, David Chapman, and Ruthie Wright; brothers in law, Ron Rohlfs, Tommy Wright, and Joe Lee Johnston.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Chapman; children, Jody Gordon, Dana Adams (Jed), and Amanda Gordon; grandchildren, Zoe Dahlquist, Dylan Warner, Hayden Warner, Fisher Gordon, and Bryson Gordon; siblings, Mary Smith (Hubert), Jean Mathis, Robert Chapman (Susan), Sam Chapman Jr. (Lynn), and Susie Rohlfs; and many Nieces and nephews.

Ricky grew up in Coosa, Georgia. He was totally dedicated to and proud of his service in the United States Marine Corp. In addition, he excelled in football while attending Coosa High School. He was known as Paw Paw to his grandchildren and he thoroughly enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing, and cutting grass. He loved to watch any kind of sport on TV and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 6, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Riverside Baptist Church located at 48 Ash Street, NE in Rome, Georgia, 30161 with Pastor Randy Lambert officiating.
