Ricky Lofty

Ricky Lee Lofty, 63, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center after fighting a serious illness. Born September 5, 1947 in Marion County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Ray Lofty, Sr. and the late Lillian Ables Lofty. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Lofty; and his step-mother, Julie Lofty.



Ricky had been employed as a machinist supervisor with the TVA. He was a clogging instructor, loved to hunt and fish, and loved spending time doing anything outdoors. Ricky loved checkers and would beat anyone who would challenge him. He is loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.



Survivors include his brothers and sister-in-law, Ray and Linda Lofty of Cartersville, Georgia and Ronald Lofty of Robbinsville, North Carolina; his sisters, Reba Smith of Robbinsville, North Carolina and Robbie Hayes of Maryville, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews, Judy and Billy Lienhop of Cartersville, Georgia, Dennis and Denise Lofty of Cartersville, Georgia; and several great-nieces and great-great-nieces whom he loved and with whom he spent most of his time, Katy, Christy, Candice, Josie, Kaley, and Macey.



A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2010 at Midway Baptist Church in Robbinsville, North Carolina with his life long friend Rev. Harold Beasley officiating.
