Riley Cantrell

April 18, 1918 — April 1, 2009

Mr. Riley �Bud� Carlton Cantrell, 90, formerly of Taylorsville passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Sunbridge Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born April 18, 1918, he was a life-long resident of Bartow County and was the son of the late William Riley Cantrell and the late Texana Brown Cantrell. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Cantrell, Walt Cantrell, Bill Cantrell, Ira Cantrell, and Ed Cantrell; his sisters, Ellen Buford, Josephine Ferguson, Octavia Hitchcock, Cliffie Smith, and Gertrude Ponder; and a son, Louie Raburn Cantrell.



Mr. Cantrell was a retired farmer and was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. He was also a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon.



Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Eunice Moore Cantrell; his sons and daughter-in-law, Ernest and Dianne Cantrell of East Point and Earl Cantrell of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Adam Cantrell of Cartersville, April and John McMitchen of Cartersville, Andrea and Dan Strain of Peachtree City, and Alicia and Matt Williams of Sandy Springs; his great-grandchildren, Cane McMitchen and Hanna McMitchen, Bethany Strain and Jessica Strain, and Ava Williams; his brother, Seward Cantrell of Ventura, California; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Charles Moore and Rev. Dan Strain officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
