Rilla Lee

Rilla Sloan Lee, 71, of Cartersville passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at her residence. Born March 16, 1938 in Gwinnett County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Branson Sloan and the late Colena Wood Sloan. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years in 2007, Robert �Bob� Lee; and her sister, Bernease Sloan.



Rilla was a homemaker most of her life but had worked as a substitute teacher in the Bartow County school system while her sons were in school. She loved flowers and kept many in her yard. And she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Emerson.



Survivors include her sons, Ron Lee and Russell Lee both of Cartersville; her grandchildren, Ryan Jeffrey Lee and Rachel Emily Lee; and her siblings, Jaris Sloan, Terrell Sloan, Jim Sloan, Ernest Sloan, and Marie Marr; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Dr. Warner Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Keys, Ronnie Meadows, Charles Groce, Jesse Keeling, Dennis Bradshaw, and Charles Terry. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. on Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, GA 30120.
