Mr. Robert O. Bryant, age 88, of Rome, GA died Monday, January 18, 2010.



Mr. Bryant was born in Fulton County, GA on June 4, 1921 to the late Fred E. Bryant and Rosa Lee Moore Bryant. Mr. Bryant was a graduate of the Daniel C. O�Keefe Junior and Senior Schools in Atlanta and the U.S. Maritime Service Academy. He heroically served under the War Shipping Administration in the United States Merchant Marine Service in the Atlantic, Pacific and Mediterranean theaters of combat during World War II. Mr. Bryant was a loyal member of UAW Local #10 and worked thirty-five years in the GM-BOP assembly plant in Doraville, GA before retiring with his family in Rome. In addition to his parents Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Bryant, December 1, 2009 and a daughter, Joan Abercrombie.



Survivors include his son, R. Stan Coggins of Pullman, WA; a sister, Rosa Mae Jones of Canton, GA; sister-in-law, Sybil Bryant of Lawrenceville, GA. A number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.



Graveside and interment services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the Crestlawn Cemetery, Atlanta, GA.
