Mr. Robert Linton Crowe, 88, of Cartersville, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Cartersville Medical Center. A native of Bartow County, born June 8, 1922, Mr. Crowe is the son of the late Leslie Warren Crowe and the late Bessie Mae Belle Edwards Crowe. He is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Glennis T. Crowe; a brother, William W. Crowe; and a sister, Elizabeth Haney.
Mr. Crowe was a member and deacon of Trinity Baptist Church and served as Sunday School Superintendent for a number of years. He was a high school graduate from Peeples Valley High School and later retired from Ledbetter Brothers Construction Company with twenty eight years of service. A veteran, Mr. Crowe served in the United States Army Air Corps, ATC, and CBI known as �The Hump�.
Survivors include his son, Eddie Crowe of Cartersville; nieces, Melody Dittmer and Barbara Bevil; nephews, Steve Crowe and Bobby Haney; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Larry Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at 10:15 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home and will include: Tom Dittmer, Lawson Crowe, Steve Crowe, Bobby Haney, David Bevil and Greg Gable. Chris Bevil, Ben Haney Austin Haney, Kyle Haney and Lance Haney will serve as an honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m., Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, Georgia.
