Robert Fox

Mr. Robert "Bob" Vernon Fox, 78, of Brentwood Drive, Rome, Georgia, passed away Saturday evening, February 23, 2008 at the Floyd Medical Center. Mr. Fox was born December 10, 1929 in Floyd County, a son of the late Carl Joseph and Gertrude Smith Fox.

Mr. Fox was a 1946 graduate of the Boys High School and attended the University of Georgia. He was a Veteran of the Korean War having served his Country in the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Fox was retired from HJ Heinz Company and T & M Brokerage. He was also a charter member of the Garden Lakes Baptist Church. Mr. Fox loved to play golf.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Barrett Fox , to whom he was married December 28, 1952 , of the residence; children and their spouses, David and Kate Fox of New York, Deborah and Willis Rogers, Diane and Barry Didrick all of Rome, Dan and Darla Fox of Cedartown; grandchildren, Nick Rogers and his wife Beth, Jarrett and Josh Didrick, Amber and Dylan Fox, and Molly Fox; brothers and sisters-in-law, John M. and Margaret Fox of Mukilteo, Washington, Gerald and Donna Fox of Cleveland, TN.; two nephews and one niece also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Robert Vernon Fox will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. from the Garden Lakes Baptist Church with Dr. Drew Corbett officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the church from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.

Pallbearers are requested to meet at the church on Tuesday by 2:30 P.M. and include Nick Rogers, Jarrett Didrick, Joe Williamon, Lane Owens, and Kyle Ivester. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Donald Stansells Sunday School Class from the Garden Lakes Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Garden Lakes Baptist Church Building Fund, 2200 Redmond Circle, Rome, Georgia 30165, or a charity of your choice.
