Mr. Robert Felton "Johnny" Hobgood, 66, of Cartersville, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
Born September 14, 1946 in Cartersville, he was a son of the late Clinton Lewis Hobgood and the late Bertie Lou Howell Hobgood. Mr. Hobgood was a member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the 1st Calvary Division during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Southern Bell and was a member of Cartersville Lodge #63, Free and Accepted Masons. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Lou Bryson Howell and Robert Howell.
Survivors include his daughters, Stacie Hobgood Thornton and her husband Aric of Cartersville, Stacey Sullins Brideau, also of Cartersville, and Hailey Hobgood Paradis and her husband D. J. of Euharlee; grandchildren, Steven Brideau, Brittany Brideau, Samantha Chatham, and Grayson Paradis; his girlfriend, Theresa Carlisle and her daughter Cami Carlisle.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Rowland Springs Baptist Church with The Reverend Joe Ringwalt officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
The family suggests that those who wish may make donations to the American Cancer Society, 1825 Barrett Lakes Boulevard, Suite 280, Kennesaw, GA 30144 in memory of Mr. Hobgood.
