Mr. Robert Lee Johnston, age 69, of 36 Addington Drive, Rome, GA, died Tuesday morning, May 11, 2004, at his residence.Mr. Johnston was born in Floyd County, December 12, 1934, son of Ruby Lee Potts Johnston and the late Eugene S. Johnston and had spent his entire life in Rome and Floyd County. Prior to his retirement he had been associated with Bennett Flooring Company for many years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He was a person that truly loved life. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Johnston, in 1982.Mr. Johnston is survived by two daughters, Cindy Rogers and Angie Swearinger both of Rome; his mother, Ruby Johnston of Rome; two brothers, Eugene Johnston of Rome and Bobby Lee Johnston of Idaho; two sisters, Margaret Locklear of Rome and Frances Goss of Adairsville, GA. Six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services for Mr. Johnston will be held Friday May 14, 2004 at 11:00 AM in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.Mr. Johnston will remain at the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 until 9 PM.Pallbearers serving include; Thomas Goss, Jr., Max Evans, Charles Locklear, David Parsons, Cliff Howell, and Travis Davis.Please join Mr. Johnston's family in honoring his life by visiting www.jennningsfuneralhome.com .The Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for the services of Mr. Robert Lee Johnston.
