Mr. Robert Lee Massie, 75, of Cartersville passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at his residence.
Born on April 13, 1937 in Osborn, Ohio he was the son of the late John Edward Massie and the late Eloise Edith Rucker Massie. Mr. Massie was employed as an insurance agent for Liberty Mutual for eighteen years. He was also involved as a volunteer for The Good Neighbor Shelter in Cartersville and was a very active member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Van Fossen Massie of Cartersville; his sons, Michael Massie of Rialto, CA, Donald Lund of Springfield, OH, Jeffery Massie of Bellbrook, OH and Robert J. Massie of Griffin, GA; his daughters, Lorraine Massie of Dayton, OH, Terri Allen of Xenia, OH and Rebecca Jenks of Gainesville; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with the Reverend Brad Dewberry officiating.
