Mr. Robert Earl Perkins, 69, died Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 at Mount Berry Hospice in Rome, Georgia. Born December 15, 1946 in Cartersville, Georgia, he was the son of the late Charlie Perkins and Gladys Stancil Perkins.
Robert was a veteran, having proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of The VFW, MOOSE and the American Legion. He loved to fish, was a coin collector and loved to live a simple life. Preceding him in death, along with his parents, is his daughter, Debra Perkins; his brothers, Charles Perkins, Joe Perkins and Ricky Perkins.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susie Perkins; His sons, Douglas (Jimmie) Perkins, Robert C. (Barbara) Perkins and James E. Perkins; his daughter, Brooke Hilburn (fiancé Tommy Black); his grandchildren; Cody Perkins, Courtnie Perkins, Avery Perkins, Skyler Hannah, Grant Perkins, Shelby Perkins and Ireland Perkins; his great grandchild, Aubrey Perkins; his sister, Jane Gattrel, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in the Georgia National Cemetery with Mr. Bobby Gayton officiating. The American Legion Carl Boyd Post #42 will be in charge of full military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m on Tuesday, December 6th at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
