Mr. Robert Bob Martin Ray of Cartersville, beloved husband and father, passed away Friday, January 9, 2009. A fun-loving, sometime goofy man, Bob was 47 years old when he died from complications of a stroke. Born February 19, 1961 in Jacksonville, North Carolina, he was the son of Maurice and Sylvia Ray.

But most of all he made sure that everyone had a good time.
Bob was a former oil and lube tech with a passion for cars. He could diagnose any vehicle ailment simply by listening to it run. Music was also an important part of his live, and blaring rock-n-roll music followed him wherever he went.
Bob also shared his interest in the NASA space program early in the lives of his three children. When he lived in Florida, he would take his family out on the front yard to watch every space shuttle launch.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Susan Byrd Ray of Cartersville; his sons and daughter-in-law, Justin and Danyiel Ray of Cartersville and Mitchell Ray of Cartersville; his daughter, Jessica Ray of Cartersville; his parents, Maurice and Sylvia Ray of Florida; his sisters, Theresa Ray, Nancy Ray and Susan Ray, all of Florida; several other extended family members; and many friends.
