Robert Wagner

Mr. Robert Duane Wagner, age 65, of 3 Pine Bower Road, Rome, GA, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007, in a local hospital.

Mr. Wagner was born in Milwaukee, WI, on June 6, 1942, the son of Venetia Martin Wagner and the late John Robert Wagner. He served in the United States Navy as a senior chief petty officer flight engineer for twenty-six years. Mr. Wagner was employed with the Unites States Customs as a flight engineer based in Jacksonville, FL, for twenty years of service. He enjoyed doing wood working.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Wagner is survived by his wife, Donnis Nichols Wagner, of Rome to whom he was married on July 14, 1962; four sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Victoria Wagner of Silver Creek, GA, Kerry Wagner of Rome, Robin and Michele Wagner of Rome, and Shawn and Melissa Wagner of Virginia Beach, VA; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Eileen Parish of High Springs, FL; and two nephews.

Graveside and interment services will be held Friday, November 30, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens and military honors will be conferred by United States Navy Honor Guard.

Mr. Wagner will remain in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home by 10:00 A.M. on Friday: Matt Wagner, Shawn Wagner, Terry Wagner, Kerry Wagner, and Robin Wagner.
