Roger Dempsey

Mr. Roger N. Dempsey, 96, of Cartersville passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 at Star Manor Assisted Living. A native of Bartow County, born August 17, 1914, he was the son of the late Charley Norman Dempsey and the late Willie Dodd Dempsey. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Kathleen Worthington Dempsey.

Mr. Dempsey was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, was a Mason and attended the retired Men�s Club. He enjoyed gardening and attended the Senior Center while he was able.

He is survived by his children, Marleen Edwards and husband, Lonnie, Jerry Dempsey and wife, Sue; his grandson, Chris Edwards and wife Christy; his brother, Harold Dempsey; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, A private burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are asked to meet at 2:15 p.m., Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services and will include: Chris Edwards, J. C. Jennings, Ernie Padgett, James Holder, Don Massey, Jimmy Lee and Larry Cooper.

The family will receive friends from 1 � 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
