Ronald Coleman Staples (Ron), 90, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Born in Hebbardsville, Kentucky, on June 30, 1935, he was the son of the late Posey Staples and the late Madeleine Powell Staples. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Janet Sheesley Staples; and siblings, Roy Staples, Joy Staples Snow, and Reggie Staples.
Ron was a fixture in all situations. He was a picture of grace, humility, and love. He always kept things clean and maintained, and he paid attention to every detail. Tinkering on and modifying everything was his normal practice. Ron's work ethic knew no limits. He provided for his family by shifting gears over the road for many years. Ron loved his family and treated everyone with respect and did not expect anything in return. One of his life goals was to make it to 90 years old and he made it.
Survivors include his children, Terri Boyd, Tammi Morris (Franklin), Scott Staples (Dawn), and Traci Cline; grandchildren, Josh Morris, Justin Morris, Nick Boyd, Ethan Staples, Caleb Privette, Tori Morris, Hannah Morris, Abby Privette, and Erin Henson; 12 great grandchildren; and brother, Bruce Staples.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Franklin Morris and Jeremy Moates officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Morris, Justin Morris, Nick Boyd, Ethan Staples, Caleb Privette, and Brock Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Boyd, Brady Henson, and Clay Williams.
