Ronald "Ronnie" Norman Chapman, age 72, sadly passed away on October 5, 2023, at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice in Marietta, Georgia, surrounded by his loving family.
Ronnie was born on November 12, 1950, in Pelzer, South Carolina to the late Arthur Lawrence Chapman Sr. and Alma Lee Chapman. He is also preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Lynn Christian (Chapman); his nephew Zachary David Cunard; his maternal grandparents Ellis & Ethel Revan; and his paternal grandparents Ben & Ressie Chapman.
Survivors include his loving son Jason Christopher Chapman; his siblings Larry Chapman (Sharon) and Marcie Chapman Davis (Strawberry); his grandchildren Taylor Chapman, Andrew Brown, Sawyer Abercrombie, Malia Christian, Blakeley Cable, Emilee Christian, and Kaylee Christian; his nephews Jordan Young and Jeremy Chapman (Liza); his nieces Carrie Gosnell and Amber Villegas (David); and the mother of his children and lifelong friend Evelyn Weiss. Ronnie's family would also like to acknowledge and thank a very special friend, Bill Cunard, for being there for them and for Ronnie during this very difficult time.
Ronnie was drafted into the Vietnam War at the young age of 18 and when he came home, he was never the same. He made the ultimate sacrifice for his country and despite his struggles, he always remained fun-loving and kind. He adored and was very close to his son Jason, loved his family very much, and enjoyed fishing. He will be sorely missed, and forever loved and appreciated.
Ronnie's family will receive friends for a visitation from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. on October 13, 2023, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life honoring Ronnie will follow at 1:00 p.m. beginning with the rendering of military honors. Officiating will be Keith Willard.
