Ronnie Wilbanks

January 9, 1957 — October 25, 2021

Ronnie (Ronnie T/Termite) Wilbanks, 64, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away suddenly on October 25, 2021 at Redmond Regional Hospital in Rome, GA.

Born on January 9, 1957, Ronnie is the son of the late Berry & Zonia Wilbanks. He is also preceded in death by his sister Shelby Richey and his twin brother Donnie Wilbanks.

Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Paula Lynn Wilbanks, his daughters; Bethany Annette Speed (Jerry), Amy Rhonda Wilbanks, and Samantha Kay Wilbanks, his siblings Gloria Reid (John), Lynn Watkins (Pete), Barbara Certain (Bobby), Kenneth Wilbanks (Vickie), his grandchildren; Kayla, Andrew, Adam, Tyler, Jackson, Derrik, Kaitlyn, Olivia, Zarek, Tristan, Arizona, and Phillip, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ronnie Wilbanks, also lovingly known as "Termite" or "Ronnie T" was a trustworthy, dependable, hardworking, and God-fearing man with many interests and talents. He had a love for music that began in the very early years of his life. This love blossomed into an unbridled passion that led him down many paths throughout his life. Through this, accompanied with his outgoing, fun nature, soft heart, and bubbly personality, enabled him to form close and personal relationships with many a folk. His instrumental skills, all self-taught, especially on his banjo, garnered him an induction into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Honor in November of 2005.

His work ethic was unmatched, to say the least. He was a part of the Vulcan Material family for a number of years before Vulcan even became the company name. There also, he met and became the friend of many.

He was a practiced and avid outdoorsman. He spent every chance he could out in the woods and enjoying hunting and the beauty of God's work.

Above all else, his greatest love was his family. A dedicated family man, his love for his parents and siblings was unwavering. He committed 36 years of unconditional love to his best friend and loving wife Paula. Together raising "his girls," Bethany, the oldest and the responsible one, Amy the middle and the wild child, and the apple of his eye and his baby, the youngest, Samantha.

Ronnie spent his life spreading music, laughter, a love for preparing and sharing food, joy, and friendship, among all who met him. No one he met was left untouched by his kindness and his remarkable love for life.

May his legacy live long in each of us.
