Roy Chitwood, age 81, of Cassville, died Tuesday, July 01, 2008 at Heartland Hospice House. Born in Bartow County on December 26, 1926, he was the son of the late Richard Chitwood and Alice Mae Hufstetler Chitwood. He was a veteran, having served in the Unites States Army.
Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Richard and Tammy Chitwood of White, Teddy Chitwood of Cartersville; his daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Chitwood of Cassville, Carol and Virgil Banks of Lawrenceville; 13 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 6, 2008 from the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Fred Lee. Interment will follow in Cassville Cemetery.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home Sunday at 1:15 p.m. and will include: Virgil Banks, Barry Little, Richard Chitwood, Blake Smith, Keith Black and Jarvis Wilkey.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, July 5, 2008 from 4 – 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
