Mr. Roy B. Jones, 68, of Cartersville, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Cartersville Medical Center. A native of Bartow County, Roy was born March 12, 1943 to the late Mike William Jones and Myrtle Virginia Martin Jones.He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Catherine Tidwell; his grandparents, Martha and Everett Jones and Asbury and Minnie Martin.
Roy was a member of Atco Baptist Church. He loved his church family and enjoyed listening to gospel music. Roy was loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his siblings, Charlotte Buchanan and husband Lloyd, Marzelle McCollum and husband Byrd, Maxie Roberts and husband Randall and Vickie Mulkey; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, C.L. and Doris Tidwell and Richard and Mary Lou Tidwell; special niece and nephew, Carla Knight and Michael Tidwell; and numerous other nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Marc Curlee and Reverend Kenneth Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 � 8 p.m. Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
