Roy O'Berry

Mr. Roy Earl O�Berry age 56, of Rome, GA, died Friday, August 28, 2009 in a local hospital.



Mr. O�Berry was born in Atkinson County, GA on June 18, 1953, the son of the late Frier O�Berry and Myrtice Mixon O�Berry. He was employed at Mohawk Home and was a member at East View Baptist Church. Mr. O�Berry was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents Mr. O�Berry was preceded in death by two brothers, Frier David O�Berry and Johnny O�Berry.



Survivors include his wife, Beverly Adams O�Berry of Rome, GA; a son, Roy �Sonny� O�Berry, Jr. of Ulsan, South Korea; a daughter, Pam Holmes of Rome, GA; three grandchildren, Meagan Sizemore, Dallas Sizemore, and Amber Holmes all of Rome, GA; two brothers, Danny O�Berry of Kingston, GA and Tim Greeson of Adairsville, GA; and two sisters, Margaret Corbett of Fargo, GA and Carolyn Fite of Adairsville, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. in the First Assembly of God with Pastor Dave McLucas officiating and Mr. Glenn Rayburn giving the eulogy. Mr. O�Berry will lie-in-state at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Floyd Memory Gardens.



The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as active pallbearers and are requested to meet at the church by 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday: Glenn Rayburn, Robert Alman, Kevin Barnes, Pat McCormick Tim McCormick, and Jesse Rayburn. The honorary pallbearers will be Josh Mathis and Dallas Sizemore.
