Roy Owens

Roy David Owens, age 55, of Cartersville died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009. He was born in Floyd County on October 17, 1953 and was the son of Betty Touchstone Owens and the late Roy Burton Owens. He grew up in Rome and was a painter by trade. Roy lived in Florida for many years and loved the ocean. He is preceded in death by his father.



Survivors include his mother, Betty Owens of Kingston; and his sister and brother-in-law, Jennie and Larry Strickland also of Kingston.



A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 5, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Mr. Parnick Jennings, Jr. as speaker.



In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in David�s memory to the American Cancer Society, Bartow Unit, 300 W. Emery Street, Suite 106, Dalton, Ga. 30720.
