Ruby Mae Dempsey, 87, of Cartersville passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 at her residence. Born June 1, 1921 in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Luther Franklin Harper and the late Ida Bell Cox Harper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Dempsey.
Ruby was a homemaker and a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. She was known for being a very happy person with a bright smile. She had a love for people and would feed those who visited her.
Survivors include her sons, Ron Dempsey of Kingston and Jerry Dempsey of Cartersville; her grandchildren, Amara Dempsey, Kevin Dempsey and Jay Dempsey; and her three great � grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday May 4, 2009 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Kingston with Rev. Paul Battles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Dempsey, Asa Dempsey, Jay Dempsey, Jack Dempsey, Chris Boss and Bud Fields. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the church by 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. on Sunday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
