Ruby Fain

May 22, 1921 — June 3, 2013

Mrs. Ruby L. Fain, 92, of Cartersville, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at Maple Ridge Health Care Center. Born May 22, 1921 in Gordon County, she was the daughter of the late James Baynes and the late Nellie Smith Baynes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, James Edward Fain.
Mrs. Fain was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and was an honorary member of the V.F.W. She was retired from Union Carbide and loved spending time with her grandchildren and taking them on vacation with her. She raised three generations of children.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, John "E" Fain; her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Angelica Fain; her grandchildren, Greg Fain (Gayle), Lori Wright, Stacy Fain and April Chastain (Joey); her great-grandchildren, Amber Abernathy (Andy), Ansley Fain, Lauren Wright, Harrison Chastain, Autumn Fain, Kasey Lee Wright and Michael Chastain; and her great-great-grandchildren, Gavin Tatum and Olivia Abernathy.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2013 in Sunset Memory Gardens with Reverend Michael Tutterow officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Fain, Mike Wright, Andy Abernathy, Stacy Fain, Ricky Wooton and Joey Chastain. Harrison Chastain and Layton Jenkins will serve as honorary pallbearers.
