Ruby Shaw

Mrs. Ruby Lee Shaw, age 79, formerly of 56 Pierce Hill Road, the Shannon Community, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at a local healthcare facility.Mrs. Shaw was born on December 9, 1924 in Tennessee, the daughter of the late Newton Lynn and Choie Roberts Lynn. She attended the Beech Creek Church of God. Mrs. Shaw was a loving wife and mother of six children. She was also a loving grandmother and a dedicated housewife. Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Lynn and two sisters, Mae Lynn and Renea Smith.Survivors include her husband, Charles Shaw, to whom she was married December 19, 1941; three sons and daughters in-law, Charles and Shirley Shaw of Carrolton, Georgia, Rickey Shaw of Rome, Georgia and Linda Shaw of Braden, Florida and Rocky and Cindy Shaw of Rome, Georgia; three daughters and sons in-law, Chloie Ann and Bill McCoy , Candy and Mike Hill and Cherry and Wayne Stanley all of Rome, Georgia; five brothers, Frank Lynn of Mesa, Arizona, Tommy Lynn, George Lynn, Pinkey Lynn and J.W. Lynn all of Tennessee; ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren also survive.Funeral services for Mrs. Shaw will be held at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home at 1:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Jimmy Hogan officiating. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends at the Oaknoll Chapel Friday evening from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. At other hours the family may be contacted at the daughter's (Cherry Stanley) home, 522 Friday Road, Rome, Georgia.Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:45 pm, Saturday and include, Jared Shaw, Heath Shaw, Keelyn Shaw, Billy Crabtree, Mark Colding and Brad Argo.The Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home, 2542 Shorter Avenue, Rome has charge of the funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Lee Shaw.
