Ruby Sims

Mrs. Ruby "Blanche" Robinson Sims, age 91, of 2469 Calhoun Hwy NE, Rome, GA, went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 16, 2006, in a local hospital.Mrs. Sims was born in Gordon County on October 10, 1915, the daughter of the late Marvin L. Robinson and Mary Anderson Robinson. She retired from Kay-Towens Antenna and also worked at Tubize at Celanese and Rome City Schools. Mrs. Sims was the longest member of North Rome Church of God and also was a Sunday school teacher for the children. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Sims enjoyed her flowers before a decline in her health. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sims is preceded in death by her husband, A.P. Sims on February 9, 1965; two brothers, Namon and Joe Robinson; and a sister, Inez Gilmore.Mrs. Sims is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ned and Paula Sims of Armuchee, GA and Joe and Candice Sims of Taylorsville, GA; a daughter, Charlotte House of Rome, GA; five grandchildren, Steve House of Rome, Jodie Carper of Rome, Jack Sims of Taylorsville, GA, Nevin Sims of Rome, GA, and Blake Sims of Armuchee, GA; five great-grandchildren, Whitney Smith, Kallan Carper, Parker House, Alexis Smith, and Ashley Sims; a brother, Velton Robinson of Lilburn, GA; two sisters, Margaret Moschek and her husband, John both of Smyrna, GA and Flo Driver of Memphis, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at 2:00 P.M. in North Rome Church of God with Rev. Harold Jones and Rev. Paul T. Stover officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. Mrs. Sims will remain in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Mrs. Sims will be carried to the church on Wednesday to lie-in-state from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as active pallbearers and are requested to meet in the North Rome Church of God on Wednesday by 1:30 P.M.: Jack Sims, Blake Sims, Nevin Sims, Steve House, Brad Moschek, Ronnie Moschek, and Joey Robinson.
