Ruby Smith

Ruby Lee Smith, 69, of Cartersville passed away Monday, February 1, 2010 at the Evergreen Nursing Home in Rome. Born January 12, 1941 in Marietta, she was the daughter of the late James Robert Shutley and the late Geraldine Price Shutley. She was also preceded in death by both of her husbands, Garney Ledford and James Smith; and her daughter, Suzette Shutley.



Ruby enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and taking care of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Ruby was also a member of Crowe Springs Baptist Church.



Survivors include her son, Garney Croft; her daughters, Penny Hall and her friend, Jimmie Anthony, of Fairmount and Mary Ledford and her friend, Danny King, of Adairsville; her brothers, Johnny Shutley of Dallas, Ronald Shutley of Woodstock, and Michael Shutley of Cobb County; her sisters, Darlene Sanders of Marietta, Penny Shutley of Cartersville, and Maryann Shutley of Georgia; several step-brothers and step-sisters; four grandchildren, Crystal and David Van Hook, Peggy Adams, Jesse Adams, Robert and Tiffany Davenport; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.



The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2010 at the Fairfield Inn in Cartersville.
