Rufus Jarrell

August 26, 1918 — May 28, 2008

Mr. Rufus Jarrell 89, of Cartersville passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Cedar Valley Nursing Home in Cedertown. Born August 26, 1918 he was the son of the late Felix L. and Beulah Clay Jarrell. He was a member of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife Rudell Holland Jarrell; brothers, Jodie, Lummie, and Walter Jarrell; sister, Nancey Jordan.

Before his full retirement, Mr. Jarrell worked as a Funeral Assistant for Parnick Jennings Funeral Home in Cartersville. Mr. Jarrell served in the U.S. Army as a Ranger during WWII and was a member of the Masons.

Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Smith; granddaughter and grandson Kelly Smith Mogan and Sean Mogan; grandson, Michael G. Mann; great-grandson, Jesse Mann; great-granddaughter Abgail Mann; sister, Hazel Griffin; several nieces and nephews

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Albert Summey officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill cemetery. The staff members of Parnick Jennings Funeral home will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 p.m., Saturday, May 31st at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd, Cartersville, 30120.
