Russell Harris

Russell Harris, 67, of 244-A Davis Rd., Chickamauga, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at the Murray Medical Center in Chatsworth. Born in Kingston on April 6, 1940, he was the son of the late Benjamin Russell Harris and the late Emily Cathart Jones Harris. Russell graduated from Lafayette High School in 1958 and earned his bachelors degree in English from West Georgia College.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Kevin Ryan of Atlanta; his grandson, Philip Ryan of Atlanta; his aunt and uncle, Anne and Lamar Pendley of Acworth; his cousins, Billy Wheeler and Danny Wheeler, both of Kingston, Micky Wheeler of Kennesaw, Lamar Pendley, Jane Gross, Bud Jones, Martha Jones, and Mike Jones, all of Cartersville; and many other extended family members.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the Kingston Cemetery with Rev. Richard Brown officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to First Baptist Church of Lafayette, 201 N. Main St., Lafayette, GA 30728.
