Ruth Collis

Mrs. Ruth Thurman Collis, 86, of Mayo, Florida, formerly of Pine Log, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012. A native of Bartow County, born June 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John Western Thurman and the late Jeannie Reece Thurman. Preceding her in death are her parents; two sons, Wylie Collis and Richard Collis; two brothers, Harley and Robert Thurman; and one sister, Nora Thurman.



She is survived by her husband, Lloyd �Red� Collis of Mayo, Florida; one son, Ronald Collis of Pine Log, Georgia; two daughters, Joyce Starling of Mayo, Florida and Kathleen Albritton of Lee, Florida; sixteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. James Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Log UMC Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 7 � 9 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
