Ruth Cowart

Our loving precious mother Ruth �Maw Maw� Cowart went home to be with Jesus, November 16, 2008, after a long fight with alzheimers. She was happiest when she was near her family and that is why she told us, �Hurry, but don�t drive fast� when we were going to see her. She loved us all unconditionally. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Ellis �Paw Paw� Cowart, whom she was married to for 58 years. As the wife of a soldier in World War II, she proved to be a strong, independent lady. She was also preceded in death by her father and mother, Eugene & Mina Hubbard, her sisters, Sara Lou Cowart & Julia Hubbard and her brother, R.C. Hubbard.



Her surviving family includes her daughter, Nell & Wayne Self, her sons, Donald & Evelyn Cowart and Rev. Jerry & Betty Cowart. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Jeff & Mitch Self, Tracy & Steve Cowart, Rev. Josh & Kelly Cowart, Nicole & Rev. Jody Orton, Chuck & Michelle Cowart, eleven great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren, which made five generations. She was also survived by her three sisters Coote Clark, Tot Stocks & Jib & Jack Jackson. Her special caregivers were Jesse Perry and Betty Cowart.



Serving as pallbearers are grandsons and great grandsons, Jeff Self, Steve Cowart, Josh Cowart, Jody Orton, Chuck Cowart, Ben Self & Tyler Cowart.

Maw Maw, we know Paw Paw has been waiting patiently for you but we will miss you and always remember all you did (especially your cooking).



Services will be held Tuesday Nov. 18, 2008 at the Pine Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Baker, the Rev. Clinton Green & the Rev. Gary Hibberts officiating.



The family will receive friends on Nov. 17, 2008 from 5 to 8 at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.
